Jets pick up big sweep at Eastern

WILBURTON, Oklahoma -- The NOC Enid Jets picked up a crucial conference sweep of Eastern on Wednesday winning 8-5 and 14-12.

The Jets (20-17) improved to 10-10 in conference while Eastern (26-15) fell to 12-8.

In Game 1, the Jets jumped out to an 8-2 lead and cruised past Eastern 8-5 in Game 1.

Sierra Wooda and Brook Fleming hit solo home runs for the Jets while Fleming, Kaycee Babek, and Taryn Rhodes had two hits each.

Anna Hester had three runs batted in.

Molly Dolan allowed three earned runs in 5.2 innings to earn the win.  Alycyn Nash earned the save with 1.1 innings of scoreless relief.

In Game 2, NOC Enid scored eight runs in the fifth to rally past Eastern 14-12.

NOC Enid trailed the Mountaineers 8-5, then scored eight runs to take a 13-8 lead.  NOC then held on for the 14-12 win.

The Jets had 15 hits, all singles.

Tylie Ligons, Fleming, and Woods had three hits each Camaryn Alexander and Sidney Redmon had two hits each.

Alexander, Ligons, and Babek had two rbi's each.

Nash earned the win in relief of Anna Hester while Dolan earned the save getting the final two outs.

The Jets host Western Sunday at 2 p.m. in their next conference action.
